WEBSITE

As all can see, the City's new website is back up and better than ever. Due to technical difficulties the site had been down for some months. Thanks to Lucia Greer and Deborah Taylor, dba Chia&Associates for all they have done to help restore a vital information to the world. We expect the site to be under construction for a couple of more months. If any one should has suggestions on how to make the site even better, please don't hesitate to call or send an e-mail.

POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS



With the sale of the old police department that was located on Main Street, the City is happy to inform the public it paid off the new department located on 1st. Ave. (Highway 59). The police relocated some months ago and it is a wonderful facility that many years.

NEW WATER TOWER

The city has finalized all land purchases for the new I million gallon water tower that will be located on Detroit NE. Junior Harley has worked diligently to bring this portion of the project to reality. The new tower will soon be going up and will be just one more indication of progress for our wonderful city.

SEWER SYSTEM

The Gravette City Council approved retaining the engineering firm of McGoodwin, Williams &Yates to begin looking at the City's sewer system. By doing so the City has locked into a low 2.75% interest rate, if City should approve joining with the regional sewer system sometime in the future.


NEW CITY HALL



City Hall will be relocating from Main Street to the old Arvest Bank Building at 601 1st Avenue (Highway 59) on or about October 1, 2007. The City staff is excited and this move will last the City for many years. One of the new features will be the drive up window for making payments. Please bare with our move so we may better serve the needs of the good citizens of Gravette.

OTHER NEWS


The swimming pool has closed for the season and we look forward to another great year next summer.

There are two (2) Eagle Scouts from Gravette Post 117 looking for a community project to complete. If any readers have ideas or needs, please contact the Office of the Mayor.

Keep in mind school has now begun. There are little ones crossing busy streets and young drivers on the streets, too. Caution is always paramount.

Congratulations to the Gravette School District for the inaugural season of the beautiful new football stadium.

The new high school opening last year and the Stadium this year is truly exceptional for the students, the staff and a beacon for our wonderful City. All of us look forward to the completion of the sports' complex and field house.
