SPAVINAW WRITERS
Gravette, Arkansas
The
Spavinaw Writers was established in 1995 by a small coterie of professional
writers living in the Northwest Arkansas area. It is a critiquing group
that meets every other week to assist each writer in the development
of current work. The current leader, Radine Trees Nehring, has a number
of books available through the St Kitts Press . Dr, Raymond Waier, a
retired public school administrator, is working on his new historical
novel. Crow Johnson, a singer-songwriter, is developing a series of
short stories. Gayle Williams, known for her children's stories, is
continuing to add to her collection. Janelle Engle is balancing motherhood,
work her family business and short story writing. Lucia Greer is finishing
her first novel -- a dramatic change from the non fiction part of her
life's work. Other writers in the area drop in from time to time to
test their work with the group, too.
