A Page from Our Book

  At the Gravette Public Library

APRIL 27. 2005 HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW? 'Tis the season to start your bedding plants and seedlings and celebrate the coming of Spring. Need some help with your project? Then come to the library and look through our fine selection of books on plants, herbs, flowers and gardening. We have a very good variety of books to guide every garden enthusiast from the novice to the expert.

As you know, the Gravette Public Library grounds will be the location of the Garden Show at the Gravette Heritage Festival, May 7. For that event, just bring your favorite portable plants to put on display throughout the morning. Ideas for entries can include Dwarf flowering or fruit trees in a container; herb gardens, African violets, bulb shoots started indoors, a Bonsai tree, flowering baskets, and many other concepts.

The Heritage Commission will have a booth to sell decorated clay pots and seedlings, so it is possible you can make an entry right there for the Garden Show.

The Library's Story Time weekly session continues to be held each Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30, and I believe the session just prior to Mother's Day will include a gardening activity. If you have pre-school or home-schooled children, they would enjoy attending our weekly classes. For more information, contact Dawn Smith at the library, 787-6955.
