What have you done this summer? The Gravette Public Library has been having a mystery of a time. The library has hosted their annual Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme was “Get a Clue” at your library. It was from June 12 to July 31, 2007. The program was for children from the age of birth to 12th grade. There was over 85 children and young adults who participated in the summer reading program. All together there were around 2000 books/chapters read by these participants. The library also hosted a City Wide Mystery Hunt. For those who solved the City Wide Mystery Hunt, they received a special prize.
For the participants of the Summer Reading Program, they were invited to the Library’s End of the Summer Pool Party. At the party they received book bags filled with a book and other goodies. They were able to swim, have snacks, and much more. Each age level presented a little program for all who attended. There were extra prizes given away for tickets they earned for reading. There was special recognition for those who had perfect attendance and also those who read over 100 books/chapters.
